What is Project Platinum?

At SmartyHost, we're about making it easy for you to find new customers and do business online. That means your domain, email and website all need to work reliably and with a minimum of fuss. Our aim is to provide you with the fastest and most reliable online services in Australia.

A better online experience

Together with MYOB's hosting team, we've developed a program of important upgrades to our email and website hosting systems. We're calling this project Platinum.

Through Platinum, your email spam protection will improve, your control panel will have useful extra features and the technical systems that power and protect your website will be enhanced to limit the impact of traffic spikes or technical issues. You'll also have access to upgraded webmail and site statistics.

Platinum spam protection upgrades

Once your account is upgraded, you'll benefit from two new layers of spam protection. First, SmartyHost systems will reject connection from a regularly updated list of known spammers. Each individual email that passes that check will then be scanned by special software that compares its content with that of spam emails. You'll be able to control the sensitivity of your spam protection in your new control panel.

Updating your email settings for Platinum

To benefit from the Platinum email upgrades, you need to make a simple update to a setting in your email program. In your mail program's account settings window, update your user name to be your account's email address. You can make this change at any point before July 28 to ensure a smooth upgrade and uninterrupted service.

Platinum control panel upgrades

When you've been upgraded to Platinum, you'll have access to a powerful and easy-to-use new control panel. It'll allow you to access or modify any aspect of your domain or hosting services.

For the first time, customers with multiple accounts will be able to use a single username and password to access all of their services in one place. To make that happen, we are combining all services that are associated with the same email billing address.

If you have any services that you'd like to keep separate from your central account, you should give them a unique billing email address before July 20.
